This year we are adding many special demonstrations and events for our weekend customers. Every Saturday and Sunday we feature our artists and crafters doing and demonstrating what they do best. You are welcome to watch, ask questions and enjoy our talented folks showing their artistry.

Sun Jul 25 - Music on the Porch Frank Pallister, Jim Lloyd and Friends playing about one pm. Frank is a wonderful musician from York, England who comes over about every year to visit his Bluegrass and Old Time Music friends, go to (and compete in) the Galax Fiddlers Convention. For the last 2 years, he has come to the porch of the BW Country Store and played the most wonderful music. He comes from the birthplace of our traditional music and can trace some of our tunes back to the original music that came over here in the 1700’s and 1800’s with our original settlers.

Jim Lloyd has just released a new CD that is going great world wide. It is “Songs From My Attic” with Jim Lloyd and the Skyliners. It features many of his favorite old tunes and a song written by Tom T. Hall for the group.

Actual events subject to change but other special activities will be substituted.

Most of the artist’s displays and continuous exhibits (soaps, quilts, etc) are in the afternoons from 12pm to 5 pm. The music events are from about 1 – 3 pm. The history talks, blacksmith demonstrations, and other scheduled events like the photo hikes are done about every hour from 12 to about 4pm depending on the crowds.
